Alexander (Alec) never left Ireland. Willie and Joe both emigrated to the United States, (where Willie married Margaret Caldwell) but subsequently returned. All the others emigrated to the US, married and brought up families there.

OK so there were more children/siblings than I ever remember Mom telling me. I didn't know about an Alec.
ReplyDeleteAlec was the one who remained on the original family farm at Moorfield. His grand-daughter, Betty, and her family still live there. I called there with Helen and Astrid (Alan's daughter) a few months ago and got a great welcome.

ReplyDeleteBessie who was a daughter of Robert originally married Thomas Allen, who died. She remarried Barton Graham. There were children from both marriages. They are on the 1901 and 1911 Census living at Tullynincrin just outside Irvinestown (where I currently live) I have been looking into Her children of Thomas Allen who I am related to, as one of them namely Thomas Allen married Sarah Stuart from Carrigallen, County Leitrim. Some of their descendants where home from USA and as took them out to see where they lived. It would have been lovely if they could have met living relatives from their Mothers/Crozier side of the family. Most of the children from both marriages went to USA.
